Dustin’s passion to assist others with their financial planning needs began when he was a sales manager with a local manufacturing firm. During his tenure with the firm, the retirement plan switched from a trustee-directed profit sharing to a participant-directed 401(k). Dustin thought this was great as he could now guide his own investment strategy based upon his risk tolerance and goals. However, he noticed that many of the other participants were confused about their choices and needed personalized assistance to answer questions and make appropriate choices but this was not being offered by the 401(k) plan.
In 2002, Dustin began his journey as a financial advisor following his passion for helping people pursue their financial goals regardless of their age or economic status. By using a comprehensive approach and by listening closely to each client's needs, wants and wishes, Dustin crafts a financial plan unique to each individual with specific actions to help pursue their goals and help protect their family now and in the future.
Dustin focuses on retirement planning and is a fiduciary consultant for multiple employer-sponsored 401(k) and 403(b) retirement plans. He helps his clients understand the basic principles of investing and determining strategies for meeting long-term goals. Once the foundation of the plan is developed, Dustin leads his clients to take action and monitor the plan year after year. For his clients who are 50+, Dustin completes a retirement income analysis helping them understand what their retirement "paycheck" will look like.
Dustin attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a BA degree in Economics and International Studies. Dustin currently holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary, AIF® designation and is an Investment Advisor Representative of Cetera Advisor Networks with Series 7 and 66 securities registrations. He also holds Life, Health, Accident & Variable Annuity insurance licenses through the State of North Carolina.
When Dustin isn't helping clients pursue their goals, he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Elizabeth, and their four kids, two cats and a dog. Both Dustin and Elizabeth are avid tennis players and have inspired a family love for tennis.
